22 February, British Library, London
1 March, Thackray Museum, Leeds
Two conferences aimed at leaders in education, children’s services and heritage sectors will take place on 22 February and 1 March, supporting the launch of the Ofsted Citizenship Report, ‘Citizenship Established’ (Citizenship in schools 2006/09). The report is based on a sample of similar size to the 2006 report, ‘Towards consensus?’ It indicates steady progress, as Citizenship becomes more widely understood and acquires depth in the light of experience, but also raises the issues that schools need to tackle if Citizenship is to be firmly established. The conferences will also look at recent developments in Citizenship education, including how museums and archives can provide support through the innovative Campaign! Make an Impact programme.
Speakers include:
With poetical inspiration from David Neita
Both conferences are free and run from 9:45am to 3:30pm, with similar content.
